Don was sent to the nations in 1968, and has been instrumental in discipling leaders and pioneering congregations and ministries. He invested his elder years downloading his experiences and insights in book form.
Don was love-motivated, relational in style, and kingdom-focused. His heart’s desire was for the glory of God to fill the earth through the many sons that God is bringing to glory.
Papa Don’s motto: “We teach what we know.” “We impart what we are.” He loved well.
Left to celebrate his life are daughters Deborah Atkin Gaddy (Larry), Denise Atkin Douglas (Jeff); fourteen grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren; brothers Doug Atkin (Linda), Denny Atkin, Bill Mitchem (Jill), Phillip Mitchem (Patricia), cousins, nieces and nephews and countless spiritual sons and daughters in many Nations.
