Born on May 22, 1931 in Belmont to Harrison DeWitt Kirby and Etta Lucinda Perry Kirby, he proudly served with the US Air Force during the Korean War from 1950-1952 and retired as a Master Sergeant from the NC Air National Guard. Donald was an active member of Westview Presbyterian Church of Mount Holly.
Left to mourn his loss are beloved daughters Donna Kirby Ambrose (Michael) and Debbie Roberts and precious grandchildren Brandee Williamson and Christopher Auble (Regina).
Donald is preceded in death by his parents Harrison and Etta, wife Peggy and five siblings.
Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, February 15, 2024 at 1pm at McEwen Funeral Service located at 5716 Monroe Road in Charlotte. A graveside service will begin at 2:30pm at Sharon Memorial Park.
