Donald Miller

Don Miller, 97, passed away peacefully at home on July 31, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. He lived a long and remarkable life defined by devotion to his family, service to his country, and a quiet strength that touched everyone who knew him.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Don spent his early years there before attending Clarkson College, where he earned a degree in Electrical Engineering. Following graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and proudly served as a bomber pilot during the Korean Conflict. His military service reflected the courage, dedication, and sense of duty that remained hallmarks of his character throughout his life.

After returning from military service, Don settled in Texas, where he married the love of his life, Adele. Together they shared nearly 73 years of marriage, building a home filled with love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to one another. Family was the center of Don’s life, and nothing brought him greater happiness than watching it grow across generations.

Don was preceded in death by his son, Stephen, and daughter-in-law, Liz, losses that he bore with remarkable strength and enduring love. He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Adele; his son, David, and daughter-in-law, Judy. He was a proud grandfather to nine grandchildren and was blessed to know many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, each of whom brought him immense joy.

Don enjoyed a meaningful and successful career as an engineer and computer software developer. He approached his work with curiosity, intelligence, and a lifelong passion for learning and innovation. Away from work, he found happiness in woodworking, where he crafted beautiful pieces with skill and patience, and in traveling with Adele, creating treasured memories together throughout the years.

Don will be remembered for his gentle spirit, his warm and charming smile, his good nature, and his unwavering love for his family. He had a quiet way of making others feel welcome, valued, and loved. His kindness, humility, and steady presence were gifts to everyone fortunate enough to know him.

His life was a testament to service, integrity, hard work, and enduring love. More than any accomplishment or title, Don’s greatest legacy is the family he and Adele built together and the values they passed from one generation to the next.

Though he will be deeply missed, the love he shared and the example he set will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends. Above all else, Don measured his life by the love of his family rather than by his accomplishments. His memory will forever be a source of comfort, inspiration, and gratitude for a life so well lived.
