

He was born in Columbia South Carolina, February 27, 1951 to Reverend Matthew Joseph and Seretha Bookhert Reeves, the oldest of seven children. He graduated from Irmo High School in 1970 and immediately began working until his final career in Arborscape with Asplundh Tree Service as a Truck Driver and Groundsman.
Later in life, he met Dovey Margaret Riley and they married November 27, 1997. They lived in Irmo, South Carolina before relocating to Augusta, Georgia and most recently living in Concord, North Carolina. Together they were blessed with a large blended family.
Donnie’s interests were gardening, spending time with family and studying the word of God. He was a kind man, yet known most for his strength and ability to lift a refrigerator or two back in the day. He was also one of the most humorous men you’d ever meet. His charm and smile set him apart from others.
Donnie leaves to cherish his memory his wife Dovey Reeves, parents Reverend Joseph and Seretha Reeves, siblings Reverend Maxine Reeves-Sumpter, Ronnie (Veronica) Reeves, Harold Joseph Reeves, Reverend Rhudene (Carl) Reeves-Toomer, Reverend Morgan Bruce Reeves and Tony (Geri) Reeves; three daughters, Michelle (Tyrone Sr.) Boykin, Catherine Robinson and Monica (Darryl) Buchanan; four sons, David Burton, William Hutto II, Raymond Robinson and Lorenzo Robinson (proceeding him in death). Ten grandsons, Drew Hutto, Justin Daniels, Michael Murphy, Tyrone Boykin Jr., Aaron Boykin, Lance Murphy, Jarrett Robinson, Dante Buchanan, Tyler Buchanan and William Hutto III; nine grandaughters, Marley Daniels, Dove Hutto, Jasmine Hutto, Heaven Hutto, Mikayla Williams, Lauren Bluefort, Jamacia Bluefort, McKayla Bluefort, London Hutto, and six great grandchildren, Nyzair Soublet, Khloe Soublet, Malik Boykin, Zaiden Boykin, Giana Robben and Nylah Murphy. Also living is Aunt Mrs. Hortence Whetstone and a host of other aunts and uncles (proceeding him in death). Acknowledging all nieces, nephews, in-laws, cousins and friends.
A celebration of life will be held Monday, November 7th at Forest Lawn West Funeral Home in the Paul L. Helton Chapel at 1pm. The visitation will begin at 12 noon. Burial will be held at Forest Lawn West Cemetery.
