Mr. Rice, 82, of Charlotte, NC, died June 27, 2011 at Presbyterian Hospital.
He was born January 17, 1929 in Portsmouth, OH, the only child of Edward and Anna Rice. Mr. Rice was retired from the City of Charlotte in the Water Department and enjoyed woodworking with his hands.
The Rice family will greet friends Friday, July 1, 2011 from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at McEwen Funeral Service at Sharon. A graveside service will follow at 3:00 PM at Sharon Memorial Park.
Mr. Rice is survived by his two children: Catheryn Winchester and husband, Joe of Charlotte and Richard Rice and wife, Patsy of Greenup, KY; three grandchildren: Christa Clevenger, Nicholas Winchester and Joseph Winchester.
