Doris W. Baucom

Born in Concord, NC on July 2, 1941, she was a daughter of the late John Murray Welch and Lexi Irene Tucker Welch. Doris was a 1959 graduate of Pageland High School and had worked for Harris Teeter, American Credit, Barkley American, Bryant Electrical Supply, Simpson Lighting, ICCA and for the past 8 years she was part owner and operator of Drum Majorettes of America.

Doris was a member of Hickory Gove Baptist Church.

Her husband whom she married January 1, 1960, Joe M. Baucom, Sr. survives at home.

Other survivors include a daughter, Becky Baucom Brinson and her husband, Bryan of Charlotte, Joe M. Baucom Jr. of Mount Holly, NC, and a granddaughter, Harley Sheridan Baucom.

Additional survivors include a sister, Debbie Galloway and her husband, Lee of Florence SC and 2 nieces, Julia Galloway and Beth Gardner.

Services are planned for 3:00 pm Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at McEwen Funeral Service-Derita Chapel. Friends may visit at the funeral home one hour prior to the services.
