
Doris Mueller Reinhardt CHARLOTTE - Doris Mueller Reinhardt, 88, of Charlotte, entered into rest in Rutherfordton, NC on Sunday, November 24, 2013. Visitation will be held at 1:00pm Friday, November 29, 2013 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 6828 Old Reid Rd in Charlotte followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 2:00pm officiated by Reverend Father Mark Lawlor. Born on May 12, 1925 in New Baden, IL, Doris was the daughter of the late Arthur and Ida (Korte) Mueller. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 55 years, Lee, as well as her two brothers, Stanley and Harvey Mueller. She leaves to cherish her memories, her daughters, Lynn C. Reinhardt of Rutherfordton, NC and Lisa A. Blalock and husband Allen, of Augusta, GA and their three children, Will, Caroline, and Allie. Doris also leaves behind sister-in-law, Doris R. Meyer and husband Robert of Carlyle, IL as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Doris will be missed by some longtime friends in the Charlotte area, especially Agnes Bantle, Dorothy Reuss, Joe Kenney, and Marty Opyrchal. Doris was a loving mother who was active in the lives of her children, volunteering at school and Church. She served as a Girl Scout leader for both troops of Brownies and Juniors. Doris was also active alongside her husband with the CYO at St. Vincent's parish and sang in the church choir for many years. Doris served as President of the St. Vincent's Women's Guild and in later years as the President of the ACES (Active- Caring-Energetic-Seniors) at St. Vincent's. She supported her husband's activities with the Knights of Columbus and Holy Angels Nursery. Doris stayed active well into her 70's playing golf, painting watercolors, and traveling. Doris also worked outside the home for Celanese Corporation for many years until her retirement. In Doris' last days, she was lovingly cared for by the gentle hands of caregiver, Susie Lovelace, her doctor, Gary Schafer, and the Nursing staff and providers of Hospice House of Rutherford County, NC. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and/or Hospice House of Rutherford County, Forest City, NC.
