Ann, of Charlotte, died peacefully on a beautiful sunny afternoon in the arms of her loving family. Her late parents were James Marvin Boiter and Nancy McKinney Boiter. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Jimmie Marvin Boiter.
She was such a special individual and friend, full of quips and one-liners making everyone laugh and feel happy just to be with her.
Ann’s keen scene of curiosity and love of learning led her to obtain an undergraduate degree in Physical Education, an Occupational Therapy degree, a graduate degree in Special Education and even to graduate from a business college. Being a secretary was not to her liking, so she concentrated on her classroom of special students in the Charlotte Mecklenburg schools, often making and designing a means to aid in their further learning.
Her many interests included: playing the piano, listening to opera arias, painting pen and ink pictures of old buildings then making frames for them, carpentry (building a wood shed) and even cutting down trees with her several chain saws. But most of all, she loved being with and enjoying the company of her many special friends near and far.
She is survived by her loving sister, Jean Boiter; sister-in-law, June Boiter; nephew, Jimmy Marvin Boiter Jr.; nieces, Angela NeSmith (husband Steve) and Stephanie Haynes (husband Jim); grandnieces, Caitlin Phaiah (husband Torin), Naval Officer Rebecca NeSmith and Kelsey Haynes; and grandnephew, Jonathan Haynes.
Memorials may be made in Ann’s memory to Trinity Presbyterian Church, 3115 Providence Road, Charlotte, NC 28211, Humane Society of Charlotte, 2700 Toomey Avenue, Charlotte, NC 28203 or Alzheimer’s Association, 3800 Shamrock Drive, Charlotte, NC 28215.
