Dorothy Mae Chavis

Dot was born July 21, 1926 to Jesse & Ostis Blanton and grew up in York SC. She was married to Simmie Chavis in 1952 until his passing in 2003. She is survived by three children - Cindy Cooper (John), Sherree Moore (Ted), and Jeff Chavis (Donna); along with grandchildren Matthew, Phillip, Spencer (wife Sadi), Brian (fiancé Anna) and Lauren (fiancé Trey).

She was a member of Trinity Fellowship Church in Matthews, NC. Dot was employed by Celanese in Rock Hill, SC for over 20 years. She was an excellent wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed nothing more than to be around her family. She was also a loving and caring friend to so many.

A memorial service will be held at Trinity Fellowship in Matthews, NC on Saturday, April 30,2022 at 11:00 a.m. at 13232 Idlewild Road. Revs Bill Phipps and Russell Stalvey will preside over the service. Visitation will follow the service. The burial will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in her memory to Trinity Fellowship church.
