Dorothy A. Wells

Dorothy Ann Wells, 86, a resident of Carriage Club Assisted Living in Charlotte NC, passed away suddenly August 15, 2012, a loving Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother. She will always be remembered as the matriarch of our family.

She was born June 20, 1926 in Hutchinson, PA, a daughter of the late Fred and Katy Christian Hrolenok of the Chatham Hill Community in Farmington, WV.

Dorothy is survived by Marsha L. Livingstone & David Little of Fairmont, WV, Sherry L. and John R. Heim Jr. of Charlotte, NC and Herbert K. and Debra Wells of Scottsdale, AZ; seven grandchildren and their spouses; Heather Skeen (John) of Charlotte, NC, JD Livingstone (Shannon) of Onalaska, TX, Kristopher Wells (Roxanne) of Phoenix, AZ, Trey Heim ( Annette) of Charlotte, NC , Ryan Livingstone (Gabrielle) of Greensboro, NC, Katherine and Megan Wells of Scottsdale, AZ. and eleven great grandchildren; One sister and brother-in-law, Betty & Donald Lowdermilk of Alexandria, VA, two sisters-in-law, Hilda Hrolenok and Florence Hrolenok of Baltimore, MD, and one brother-in-law and John Mogas of Westover, WV.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her beloved husband of over 40 years , Herbert T. (Bud) Wells, who died in November1987, as well as two sisters, Julia Hrolenok and Della Verrelli and four brothers, Walter Hrolenok, John Hrolenok, Frank Hrolenok, and Steve Hrolenok and a special friend Arlan Brown.

Dorothy was Catholic by faith and enjoyed attending Mass. Dorothy retired from Owens Illinios glass plant in Fairmont in 1979 after 28 years of employment. She was a graduate of Farmington High School class of 1944. A member of the Loyal Order of Elk’s in Alexandria, VA.

The family will be hosting a celebration of her life at the Univercity City United Methodist Church Chapel 3835 W WT Harris Blvd, Charlotte NC on August 25th at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St Jude Children's Hospital to honor Dorothy's love of children.
