
Edith was born in Queens, New York on July 21st, 1937, to Harold and Edith McGuire. Known to many as Edie, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother (Grandma J), sister and aunt (aunt Tudy). She will be missed by her entire family.
Edith was a devoted mother and homemaker, who occasionally worked part time doing office work. She enjoyed building doll houses, and all things related to Christmas. Her Christmas miniature village, especially loved by children, was always the talk of the holiday season as more pieces were added year after year. She was also an avid bowler and reader, loved her cats very much and always enjoyed spending time with family.
She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Jay, her children John Jacik, Robert and his wife, Megan Jacik, and Kathleen Jacik, all of Charlotte, NC; brother Harold and his wife, Gilda McGuire of Long Beach, NY; grandchildren John Jacik of Charlotte, Nicole Jacik of Waxhaw, NC and Brandon Jacik of Kendall Park, NJ; step grandchildren Zoe Almeida and Andrew Garza; as well as many nieces and nephews. Edith was predeceased by her siblings Terence McGuire and Eleanor Rinchisen and her husband Walter.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Matthew Catholic Church, Day Chapel, 8015 Ballantyne Commons Parkway, Charlotte, NC 28277 on Thursday, December 5, 2024 at 1:00 PM.
