Edna was born on July 12, 1930 in Lincolnton, NC. Ross and Edna lived in Myrtle Beach, SC where they owned a motel for many years until they retired and moved back to Indian Trail, NC. Edna loved the Lord and was very active in her church where she was a member for over 50 years. She was the matriarch of her family, loved the beach, watching Panthers football, cross-stitch, reading, puzzles, game shows, cooking some of her famous meals and spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Beaver (Bob) of Grand Canyon Village, AZ; her son, Kent Alexander of Waxhaw, NC; her daughter, Toni Smith of Indian Trail, NC; seven grandchildren, Shawn Powers (Jackie); Alicia Marshall (Chris); Jonathan Beaver (Elizabeth); Bethany Gwinn (David); Ross Alexander; Jessica Beaver and Taylor Pohs (Grayson); and ten great-grandchildren.
The visitation will be held on Saturday, July 28th at 11:00 a.m. followed by the funeral service at noon at McEwen Funeral Services, 5716 Monroe Rd in Charlotte, NC. Edna will be laid to rest immediately afterwards at Sharon Memorial Park.
