Formerly of Jersey City and Paramus, NJ, Eddie was born in Margaret Hague Hospital in Jersey City to Anthony and Nora Byron. He attended St. Aloysius Elementary School and Lincoln High School. He was awarded a football scholarship to play defensive tackle for the Bearcats at Northwest Missouri State University.
After graduating, Eddie returned to teach physical education, health and driver’s education at William L. Dickinson High School. While at Dickinson, he met his wife Patricia Doherty and they had two children Patricia Anastasia and Edward Paul.
After forty years at Dickinson, Eddie retired from teaching and moved with his wife to Myrtle Beach, SC where he enjoyed playing golf, tennis, swimming, poker, walking on the beach and cruising to new places. He learned to cook and became pretty good at it.
Eddie loved spending time with his children and grandchildren Ella Grace Byron and Benjamin Edward Byron.
His parents and sister Lorraine Byron precede Eddie in death.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 24 2021 at 11am at Sharon Memorial Park located at 5716 Monroe Road in Charlotte.
