Born June 30, 1969 in Manhattan, New York, he was a son of Earl Biilingsley and Gloria Young Munoz.
Edwin had been employed with the Sheet Metal Mechanics Union Local 28 in New York from 1990 to 2001. He then spent 12 years teaching Science and Math for Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools and most recently had been working shipping/receiving for FEDEX at Charlotte Douglas International Airport.
Edwin was a member at New Life Fellowship Center and the Masonic Lodge.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Franklin Munoz Sr.
Survivors include his wife, Tonja Wills Billingsley; a daughter, Naadira Andrews (Matthew); a son, Naaquarry “Que” Billingsley; 2 grandchildren, Malachi Andrews and Mylah Andrews; 6 siblings, Mark Munoz Sr. (Carolyn Keller)’ Franklin “Pops” Munoz Jr. (Dorothy), Michael Munoz, Lynn Martinez (Sam), Karen Munoz and Tiffany Munoz-Brown (Franklin); his mother-in-law, Mary Wills; 2 honorary sons, Jamison Eskridge of the US Army and Nicholas Cousar, whom he mentored throughout his time at CMS; sisters-in-law, Angela Wills, Monya Bunch Battle (Marc), Angela Daniel, Janice Williams, Keisha Murphy (Randy), Tyneisha Daniel and brothers-in-law, George Wills and Justin Daniel. Friends may visit Wednesday, December 2, 2020 from 11 am to 3 pm at McEwen Funeral Service-Derita Chapel, 6300 Mallard Creek Road, Charlotte, NC 28262. NC Covid-19 regulations concerning visitations, allow for 10 visitors at a time in the building, facial masks and social distancing.
Funeral services are planned for 3:00 PM following the visitation, where facial masks and social distancing will be observed.
The family will receive visitors at 7532 Grabill Drive immediately following the service.
