Edythe Olivia Hook Lippard

Edythe Olivia Hook Lippard, age 87, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2016. She was born December 20, 1929 in Bessemer City, NC to the late George Allen Hook and Bessie Azaline Davis Hook. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by four brothers and five sisters.

Edythe graduated from Lenoir Rhyne College and was a retired teacher for Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools. She is survived by her husband, Robert F. Lippard, Jr.; her daughter Lynn Lippard Brown and husband Mark; one sister Muriel Revell of Florence, SC; three grandchildren, Jennifer Gordon (Shane), Lindsay Brown, David Brown (Emily) and four great grandchildren, Olivia, Luke and Logan Gordon, and William Brown.

Funeral services will be held January 2, 2017 at 1:00 pm in the chapel of McEwen Funeral Service – Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Rd., Charlotte, NC. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 12:00 to 1:00 PM at the same location. A private family burial will follow at Gaston Memorial Cemetery.
