I met Elena when I came to Charlotte on 2008. She was the interim director of the ALS/Neuromuscular center. In addition to her gentle and compassionate care of her patient she was a strong believer in evidence based medicine. She was very supportive and pivotal collaborator in our research focusing on the understanding of the climetrics of functional decline and it’s treatment in ALS patients which lead to the publication of three pivotal research papers in a highly respected medical journal in addition to a numerous scientific abstract and presentations. I am so sorry for this loss.

I remember my wife Priscilla coming home from work one day years ago and telling me, " I meet this women at work today and we just cliqued". Soon after we were afforded the pleasure to meet her husband Michael, and children Paula and Eric. Over the years we attended special family events, shared dinner and entertainment out, talked about vacations, and created memories that will not be forgotten. When we received the news of Elena's passing, my wife turned to me and said " it seems like yesterday when we meet". " I remember how we would steal 5 minutes from the work day to close the door and talk about life". We both cried at that moment for the loss of our friend, but also for the loss of a wife, a mother, a daughter, a neurologist, and an incredible women. We will miss you our dear friend, but will never forget you. We love you Elena, Michael, Paula and Eric. Santo and Priscilla Russo

Dear Elaina,

My memories of you are whilst working in Neurosciences. You were always kind. You had the most brilliant smile and spoke of your children and family trips often. You were extremely dedicated to your patients, ALS and MDA clinics, as well as your team of physicians and nurses. You were a focused person of great integrity. My thoughts and prayers go to your husband and children at this time. You are gone far too soon friend. Rest In Peace with the Lord, our God.

To Dr Bravver’s family,
Please accept my deepest sympathy. I am saddened to read of Dr Bravver’s passing. She was one of my late wife, Jeanette, doctors after Jeanette was diagnosed with ALS. We found Dr Bravver to be kind, caring and professional. May her memory be a blessing.

Whenever we would go to the Clinic Dr Bravver would go out of her way to make both my significant other, Ande Conn and myself feel welcome. She was a well educated physician and always so personable. There is a special place for you Dr Elena Bravver, you will never be forgotten.

Elena was a wonderful colleague. We met at Atrium neurology department when I started my first job after fellowship. She was very supportive and kind. It was always a pleasure to discuss patient diagnosis and treatment strategies with her. Her soul is free now of the cage it was in in this life. May her soul progress toward God for eternity. I will keep you in my memory forever.
