Mrs. Maconi, age 79, of Charlotte passed away Thursday, August 16, 2012 at Presbyterian Hospital Main.

She was born April 16, 1933 in Fords, New Jersey the daughter of the late Leonard Mayland and Lillian Hart Mayland. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 47years, Anthony Frank Maconi.

Elenore was a deeply genuine and kind person who gave of herself to those in need of assistance. She was quick to brighten the day of others with her smile, laugh or witty sense of humor. Her love of humanity created a deep sense of charity and she was active in the UMAR organization, Special Olympics and the Metro Center as a Teacher’s Assistant. Mrs. Maconi was an active and longtime member of Sharon Forest Baptist Church. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, sister and friend who will be missed by all.

Surviving are her sons; Paul Maconi and David Maconi of the home; and sister, Grace Mazur of Port Orange, FL.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, August 19, 2012 at Sharon Forest Baptist Church, 11020 E. W.T. Harris Blvd, Charlotte, NC 28212. The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
