Elizabeth S. Downing

Born in Franklin, NJ on August 19, 1919, she was a daughter of the late Matey Stefkovich and Veronica Tomasovich Stefkovich.

She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxillary in Kenvil, NJ.

Mrs. Downing retired from Picatinny Arsenal in Dover, NJ.

A Catholic by faith, she was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption in Charlotte, NC.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur F. Downing and five siblings, Joseph Stefkovich, John Stevens, Michael Stefkovich, Mary Miskovich and Anne Walsh.

Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Haynes and husband, Garry of Monroe, NC; four grandchildren, Benjamin Haynes of Asheville, NC, Lindsay Haynes of Harrisburg, NC, Zachary Haynes and Emma Haynes both of Monroe, NC; and two sisters, Helen Maher of Berwick, PA and Marge Henderson of Windcrest, TX.

A private family service is planned with burial to take place in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Chester, NJ.
