Ellen Wise Kiser

Ellen Wise Kiser, 87, formerly of Stanley, NC passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at 2:06 a.m. with both of her children by her side. Born November 4, 1936 in Vale, NC, she was the daughter of the late Lester and Lillie (Young) Wise. She was the wife of the late Ray O. Kiser who passed away October 3, 2012.

A graduate of Fred T. Foard High School, Newton, NC, Ellen was formerly employed at American Cyanamid and Word Power Incorporated. She retired from Hill's Floral Group, Charlotte, NC.

She was a long standing member of Ranch Road Church of God in Charlotte, NC, in later years she joined Springwood Church of God and in her final years she attended South Gastonia Church of God in Gastonia, NC. She was active in the church choir, taught Sunday School, served many years as the church clerk, she also served as the president and director of the Senior Care Ministry.

A devoted lover of the Word of God and Biblical Studies, Ellen enjoyed flowers, working in her garden, mowing her grass, bird watching, cooking/baking and trips to Gatlinburg, TN with her husband and family. Most compassionate, meek, humble and Godly woman you will ever meet. Ellen loved her children and adored her grandchildren. She was often described as a Proverbs 31, virtuous woman. Her smile was contagious, she lit up every room and everyone that provided healthcare for her called her "Smiley."

Survivors include her children, Donna (Bill) Ward of Stanley, NC and David Ray (Deana) Kiser of Cherryville, NC; grandchildren, Keleigh (Chase) Ratliff, Ashleigh (Riley) Dotson, Jael (Eric) Tysinger, Anna Winkler and Sara Winkler; great-grandchildren, Elynd Ratliff, Brynlee Ratliff and Gatlin Ray Dotson; brother, Clarence Wise; sister-in-love, JoAnn Wise; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, Ellen was preceded in death by her siblings, Odell (Verlene) Wise, Edith (DC) Cook, Ralph Wise and Vergie (Hal) Hoyle; sister-in-love, Thelma Wise.

A visitation for Ellen will be held on Friday, November 1, 2024 from 12:00 PM until the time of her funeral service at 2:00 PM in the chapel of McEwen Funerals & Cremations, 4601 Freedom Drive, Charlotte, NC.
