

Mrs. Wilson, age 93, of Charlotte passed away peacefully and into the loving arms of her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, December 11, 2012.
She was born May 15, 1919 in Laurens, South Carolina the daughter of the late Samuel Bowman and Molly Harper Bowman. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 67 years, Troy Dean Wilson; son, Troy Stephen Wilson; daughter-in-law, Mary Reid Wilson; four brothers and two sisters.
Mrs. Wilson was a gracious southern lady and role model with her strong Christian faith and love, who had deep compassion and care for the people around her. She was a member of Plaza United Methodist Church and Hickory Grove Presbyterian Church always volunteering in activities and charities, especially her Bible studies. She was a devoted loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. The joy of her life was spending time with her family, especially for birthdays and holidays. Her family will cherish fond memories of her cooking, especially the pound cakes and coconut cakes that she shared with all.
Surviving are her daughters, Connie Wilson Short (Jim) and Rosemarie Nikki Everhardt (Nelson); grand children, David Short ( Maggie), Kristi Langmeyer (Tim), Laura Neal (Whit), Kelli Johnson (Al), Beau Wilson and Ben Wilson (Katie); 16 great grandchildren, Haley, Daisy, Eli, Wil, Kaylee Jayne, Troy, Michael, Abby, Will, Davis, Owen, Sam, Eva, Kate Austin, Reid and Kyle; and numerous other loving family members.
The family will receive friends from 10:30 AM until 12:00 PM Saturday, December 15, 2012 at McEwen Funeral Service, 5716 Monroe Road, Charlotte, NC 28212.
A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Wilson will follow at 12 Noon Saturday, December 15, 2012 in the McEwen Funeral Service Chapel. Interment will follow in Sharon Memorial Park Cemetery officiated by Reverend Irvin Reynolds and assisted by Reverend Danny Myers and Doctor Reverend Sarah Kalish.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Wilora Lake Lodge and the Cove in Charlotte and White Oak Manor of Waxhaw for their special loving care of Mrs. Wilson.
