Ernest served in the US Army and fought in the Korean War. He worked as a pressman and retired from Rexam after 35 years. He loved playing softball, watching NASCAR and football. He also enjoyed taking a walk in the park with his dog Tweetie. Everyone knew Ernest as “Tater”. He was very loveable, never met a stranger and will be loved and missed by all.
He is survived by two daughters, Donna Edge (Tom) and Sheila Blount; two sons, Robert Blount (Teresa) and Jeff Blount; three grandchildren, Ashley Edge, Matthew Edge and Lauren Edge; one brother, Robert Blount (Pat) and one sister, Betty Jo Blount.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death one son, David Blount.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at Sharon Memorial Park, 5716 Monroe Road, Charlotte, NC 28212.
