

Ernest William (Bill) Elliott, Jr., 87, of Charlotte went home to be with the Lord on December 30, 2017. Bill was born June 11, 1930 in Beckley, West Virginia to the late Ernest William Elliott and Violet Anderson Elliott. Bill met his future wife, Jean-Tyler Campbell on October 1 of 1950 at a college youth group and University Baptist Church. Bill and Jean Tyler were married on August 31, 1951 and settled in Charlottesville Virginia until Bill enlisted in the Air Force in 1953.
Bill and Jean moved to Richmond Virginia in 1959 when Bill enrolled in the pharmacy school at the medical College of Virginia. After graduating in 1963 Bill and Jean settled in Waynesboro, Virginia and in 1966 they moved to Chesterfield Virginia where they raised their two daughters.
In 1985 the family moved to Charlotte, North Carolina where Bill retired after more than forty years as a pharmacist. After his retirement he enjoyed spending time with his family and caring for his grand dog, Captain Morgan.
Bill is predeceased by his wife Jean-Tyler, his son, and his grandson Robert Eugene Brinson, Jr.
He is survived by his daughters Billie-Jean Elliott and Sarah Jane Elliott, his brother Robert Elliott and his nephews Justin Elliott and Griffin Elliott.
A graveside service will be at Magnolia Gardens Cemetery at Calvary Church, 5801 Pineville-Matthews Rd., Charlotte, NC 28226 on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at 11 AM.
