Ernestine L. Roach

We remember Ernestine Roach, who was born July 12,1945 in the Bronx, New York. She has peacefully transitioned in her home March 5, 2025 in Charlotte, NC at the age of 79. She leaves behind many gifts and a legacy of service, warmth, and love that reached far beyond just her family. She played a significant role in many lives with her most endearing quality, her selfless giving. She loved to welcome you into her home, enjoyed cooking you a meal to delight your soul and nourish you, she enjoyed having you in her physical presence to love on. If you found yourself too far away to indulge, long conversations filled with laughter, love, wisdom and support was also just as impactful. She was the friend, mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin, godmother, and confidant that we never knew we needed until it was time for her to step in and do what she does best.

She was predeceased by her mother and father (Eva and Felix Johnson), by her husband (Alfred Roach) and her siblings (Mary, Martha, Johnny, Felix, Jesse, Bobby, and Leonard), all of whom she cherished endlessly. Her legacy stands with her children (Taheerah, Michelle and Brian). She has 6 grandchildren, (Jamaar, Omar, Fatimah, Uthmann, Sophie, and Amber). She also welcomed the latest generation of her legacy, her great-granddaughter, Joie(she cherished her new role, choosing to be referred to as GG). Her reach extends even further, to her nephews, nieces, their children, cousins and countless friends who felt her warmth and generosity.

A visitation for Ernestine will be held Thursday, March 13, 2025 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Wilson Funeral & Cremation Service, 5301 Albemarle Road, Charlotte, North Carolina. A funeral service will occur Friday, March 14, 2025 at 11:00 AM, at Wilson Funeral and Cremation Service. Interment will follow in Sharon Memorial Park.
