Estelle was born on August 11, 1947, to loving parents in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She lived a life filled with love, laughter, and devotion to her family. Estelle's warmth and kindness touched the lives of all who knew her, and her memory will forever be cherished.
In addition to her roles as a beloved sister to Marvin (Helene) Landau, Fay (Frank Lurtz) Landau, a beloved mother to her daughters Nadine Petrucick and Carole (Albert) Seidel, and to her son Jason Thompson, Estelle was a doting grandmother to her four grandchildren, and her three great-grandchildren. Estelle was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her twin brother and her son-in-law.
Estelle was an active member of the Black Hatters and the Red Hat Society, where she found camaraderie, friendship, and a shared love of fun and adventure. She embraced life with enthusiasm and a contagious smile, brightening the lives of those around her. She took immense joy in spending time with her family, creating cherished memories that will be treasured for generations.
Estelle will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her love knew no bounds, and her legacy of kindness and compassion will continue to inspire those who were touched by her presence.
Preceding the memorial service, a private family viewing will be held at the McEwen Funeral Service – Derita Chapel, located at 6300 Mallard Creek Rd., Charlotte, NC 28262.
A memorial service will be held at The Hebrew Cemetery of Greater Charlotte at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, June 3, 2024, located at 1801 Statesville Ave., Charlotte, NC 28206. A reception will be held at the Memorial Building at The Hebrew Cemetery immediately following the graveside service.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff at The Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis, NC for their compassionate care.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Estelle's memory directly to the Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County.
Though she may be gone from our sight, Estelle's love will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
