Eunice was born August 2, 1925 and grew up in Fargo, North Dakota. She met her first husband, Harvey Fagg, while he was stationed in Fargo during WWII. They moved to his home state of North Carolina after they were married in 1946. There they raised 5 children until his death in 1993. She retired from the American Red Cross in Charlotte where she was chief lab technologist. She was a steadfast advocate and volunteer for the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), Charlotte Chapter.
Eunice and Charles (Chuck) Pinckney married in 1997 after reacquainting at a Fargo High School Reunion. Chuck moved from his home in Los Angeles to join Eunice in Charlotte NC.
We, Eunice's children, remember her as the strongest person we have had the privilege to know. She lived her life graciously unassuming, yet wonderfully gregarious; generous with everyone she met and respected by all who knew her. Personal faith and conviction quietly steered her through her life challenges supporting her ever-expanding nonjudgmental and empathetic, inclusive nature. We are forever grateful for her unconditional support of us and to have her as a guiding star in our lives.
Eunice had a genuine love of the outdoors and spending time at the family house in the woods (AKA Rock Ranch) in Stokes County, NC. This is a place that she enthusiastically shared with countless guests over the decades. She and Chuck enjoyed extensive traveling throughout the United States, often visiting lifelong friends they had kept in touch with since Fargo.
Eunice is survived by her husband Charles Pinckney of Charlotte, her children Rebecca Fagg of Greensboro NC, Karen Fagg Alexander of Charlotte, Sarah Fagg (Tom Renckens) of Augusta ME, Robert Fagg of Charlotte, stepdaughter Qwen Pinckney of Los Angeles CA, grandsons Philip Alexander (Jessica) and Forrest Alexander of Charlotte, and 3 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her brother Phil Dustrud and her son Michael Fagg.
