

Evelyn Baker Sellers, 89, born on June 24, 1925 and known affectionately as “Mimi” by her grandchildren, passed peacefully into eternal life surrounded by her loving family on October 20, 2014. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thurley and Viola Baker, her brother, Leon Baker, and her husband of seventy years, Frank Maxwell Sellers.
Left to cherish her memories are her children, Donna S. Hamilton, Rebecca S. Patchen, Thomas M. Sellers, and Susan E. Stegall along with her grandchildren, Melissa Morelli, Ashley Creviston, Crystal Jones, Thomas Sellers II, Annie Laurie Meares, and Zachiary Stegall. Her beloved great-grandchildren include Jessica Creviston, Alyssa Morelli, Jillian Sellers, Braxton Stegall and Sophia Jones.
Her most fulfilling years included working with Dave and Golly Neff at “The Trehaus”, an upscale women’s clothing shop and at least ten years with the Southern Christmas Shows. Her favorite passion was Ocean Isle Beach under the pier at her special place where she was at peace with herself and the world. She often said that she never felt closer to God than when she was near the sea.
A celebration of her life and visitation will be held in the chapel of McEwen Funeral Service at Sharon Memorial Park, 5716 Monroe Road, Charlotte on Thursday October 23, 2014 from 3:00 until 4:00. A graveside service will be held at 4:00 following the visitation.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to Hospice & Palliative Care Charlotte Region.
