Faye Merritt Janson

Faye Ruth Merritt Janson passed peacefully at her family home on November 21, 2022, in Matthews, North Carolina, with her husband George by her side. Faye attended South Mecklenburg High School and has lived in the Charlotte area her entire life. She leaves behind her husband George, of 57 years, her two daughters: Rebecca Janson of Alexandria, VA, and Erika Holmes of Waxhaw, NC. She also has three grandsons David, II, Christian & Yates Holmes. Still living is her older sister Carolyn Hankins of Harker Heights, TX. Scattered around the southeast are four nieces and two nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, father and brother.

Faye was a member of St. Francis United Methodist Church in Matthews, NC. She also was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. Throughout her life she enjoyed helping other people and she continued this service through her church and sorority. Faye was an avid lover of all things nature; the changing of the seasons, the sunshine, "that Texas sky", flowers, Deb's roses, the birds, and of course Patrick, their beloved Sheltie. Faye could most likely be found in her kitchen whipping up Ina Garten's latest food favorites or researching new recipes to try out on her family!

A celebration of life service will be held Monday, November 28, 2022, at 2:00 pm at St. Francis United Methodist Church, 4200 McKee Rd, Charlotte, NC 28270.

In lieu of flowers, we ask that you make donations to one of her favorite charities, were which were The National Kidney Foundation and the Humane Society of Charlotte, NC.
