

Franklin Walker Capps Jr., 88, passed away peacefully in his home on July 30, 2025. Born on January 27, 1937, in Charlotte, North Carolina to the late Franklin W. Capps, Sr. and Alice Nadine Funchess Capps. Frank lived a life dedicated to family, service.
He was a 1955 graduate of Harding High School. Frank proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1956 to 1958. Following his military service, he embarked on a dedicated career with the United States Postal Service, retiring in 1991 after many years of faithful service.
Frank found his greatest joys in life's quieter moments. He was an avid golfer and cherished relaxing hours spent by the pool. A man of faith, he was a valued member of Assurance United Methodist Church in Huntersville.
He was preceded in death by his beloved daughters, Susan Capps and Teresa Capps, whose memory he carried close to his heart, and his oldest sister, Lib Bakis.
Frank is survived by his younger sister, Dianne Beam, his loving sons: Trey Capps and Mike Capps. His legacy continues through his grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought him immense happiness, Brittany King, her husband Brian and their children: Jacob, Emmett, and Natalie; Devon Capps, his wife Faith and their children: Mia and Paisley, who brought him immense happiness and a special friend, Nan Thomas.
Frank will be remembered for his quiet strength, his dedication, and the love he held for his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at Assurance United Methodist Church, 9700 Mt. Holly- Huntersville Road, Huntersville. The family will begin receiving friends at 10:00 AM followed by service at 11am and a graveside service with military honors following at Forest Lawn West Cemetery.
