Frank was beloved by his family and friends. He touched our lives with his kindness, wisdom, work ethic, and unwavering spirit. Frank grew up on a dairy farm, served in the U.S. Army (964 th Engineer Co), was married to the love of his life, Margaret S. Gray for 49 years, and worked for Carolina Tractor and Equipment company as a Sr. Field Mechanic for 44 years. Throughout his life he and his wife loved to travel and enjoy an array of friends that they met over the years through the neighborhood, square dancing, senior bingo, and enjoying time together over a good meal.
Frank was preceded in death by his loving wife Margaret Gray, his siblings, Sara Moss, Ruth Murchison, Carl, Floyd, Lewis, Bill, and Olin Gray.
Frank was a devoted husband, parent, and grandparent and is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Terry Hodges, and two grandchildren, Bryson and Samantha Hodges, who were the joy of his life.
Relatives and Friends are invited to attend the services at McEwen Funeral Service at Sharon Memorial Park, 5716 Monroe Rd., Charlotte, NC 28212. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 18, from 12:00 to 1:00 PM and the funeral will be at 1:00 PM. Interment to follow at Sharon Memorial Park.
