MOORESVILLE -- Mr. House, 83, peacefully passed away Monday, February 7, 2011. He was born January 4, 1928 in Charlotte to the late Alonzo and Izona House.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth, of 60 1/2 years; two sons, Steve and son Shay of Mooresville, and Doug, his wife Sibylle, two sons, Ryan, Kevin and daughter, Julia of California; his two brothers George, wife Jean, and Ray, and sister Vivian of Virginia; and many nephews and nieces.
Garland spent his career in the floral industry with Hanfords, Inc., Teleflora and Smithers-Oasis.
The celebration of his life will take place Friday at 11:00am at McEwen Funeral Home, 704-537-5011, Monroe Rd., Charlotte. Interment will follow at Sharon Memorial Park Cemetery in the Singing Tower Section, and a lunch will follow in Mooresville with directions provided at the funeral. The family will receive visitors 7-9pm Thursday at the funeral home.
