Garry Lee York

He attended St. Gabriel Catholic Church and grade school. Garry graduated from Catholic High School in 1972. He attended NC State University for a brief time.

Garry’s working years were spent helping build a family business. He was a Jack of all trades in the early years. He was in sales, and then in a buyers capacity. He bought commodities and many nut products for Tropical Nut and Fruit Co. Later, he traveled for the company, and worked in Orlando, Atlanta, Memphis and Charlotte. Garry visited with our customers and suppliers in many parts of the country. Poor health caused his early medical leave.

Garry is survived by his loving parents, Betty and Jerry York; two sisters, Carolyn York Bennett and her husband John Bennett, and Angela York Bauer and her husband John R. Bauer. In addition, Garry is survived by his friend and brother, Michael R. York of Rock Hill, SC. Garry also had two nieces and three nephews.

Garry had an extended family in Ohio, Georgia, Texas, Florida and Colorado.

A private service will be held for the immediate family at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, friends and relatives may make a donation to their favorite charity.

Garry loved, and wanted the best, for his friends and relatives.

Garry ran the good race. May he rest in peace…….
