

Born on April 11, 1957, in Huntington, W.Va., he was the son of Doris Maxine Adams and the late Edward L. Adams, Sr. He graduated from Huntington East High School and Marshall University with a BA in Fine Arts. Gary was one that always embraced his passions. In doing so, he enjoyed careers as a graphic designer, flight attendant, massage therapist, and since 1998 has been the owner of Georgetown Day Spa in Charlotte. Gary also gave back to his community, including 20 years as a sponsor and leader for the Farewell to Summer Foundation in Charlotte, which raised in excess of $1 million for various local charities.
Gary is survived by his mother Doris Maxine Adams of Lexington, Ohio; his twin brother Larry Adams of Charlotte, N.C.; his sister Sue Yeager of Lexington, Ohio; his brother and sister-in-law Edward, Jr. and Barbara Adams, and his brother Rick Adams, all of Huntington, W.Va. He was the proud uncle of 10 nieces and nephews and 20 great nieces and nephews, including his godchildren, Jordan and Sydney Adams; and numerous cousins, aunts and uncles.
The joy of Gary’s life was in the relationships and bonds he built with his family and friends. Gary’s love was endless. He made choices every day to put people and relationships first. We will miss his contagious smile, positive outlook, and amazing grace during life’s challenges.
Visitation will be held at Harry and Bryant Funeral Home, 500 Providence Road, Charlotte, on Thursday, February 11th from 6-9 p.m. The funeral will be held at Henson & Kitchen Mortuary, 6357 E. Pea Ridge Road, Huntington, on Saturday, February 13th at 2 p.m., preceded by a visitation from 12 noon-2 p.m.
