

Gary Lee Robinson, 72 of Charlott, NC was welcomed home to his Lord and Saviour on Thursday evening, February 13, 2025. Born December 10th, 1952 in Wilmington, NC to the late T.C. Robinson and Emma Avon James, he is preceded in death by a loving sister, Cheyene Gains. Gary is survived by three siblings; Cynthia Edge (Newport, VA), Allan Lowe (Atlanta, GA), and Eddie Lowe (Mooresville, NC). He married the love of his life, Deborah Gartrell on December 31, 2001.
Gary attended J.T. Hoggard High School, entered the U.S. Army and was honourably discharged in 1973.
Gary spent many years working in Newport News Shipyard building Nuclear Submarines. He obtained several welding certifications. Gary also spent seven years in Houston, TX working on oil riggs.
Known for his building and mechanical talents, many can attest to receiving customed made products from dog houses, cabinets, furniture, brick grills, basketball courts, decks, houses, roofs and more. Gary also enjoyed repairing and restoring cars with some of his like-minded buddies. He even owned a paint and body shop for several years. Many people have said that there was not anything that Gary could not fix or build.
Gary will be greatly missed by all who loved him. He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving wife Deborah; step children Sam Bethea, Towanda Bethea, and Kevin Bethea; grandchildren KeTwanna Young (Tymetrice), Shawn Bethea, Ly’yon Bethea, Dasia Bethea and his heart, a great grand-daughter Tamia Young. Gary will also be missed by his three siblings, hosts of nieces, nephews, neighbors, and friends.
