

She was preceded in death by her second husband, Kent Broyles Morris. Gay was born in Fort Payne, Alabama on December 21, 1932 to William Andrew Ingle and Geretia Odessa Chambers.
Gay was a strong, confident, and ambitious women. She worked her way from secretary, to expeditor, to industrial instrument buyer with an engineering firm, to starting and running her own successful business "Algay Controls". She was a manufacturer representative for industrial instruments and controls in a male dominated industry. Algay Controls won numerous sales awards.
Gay was a trailblazer, she was the first business woman to become a member of the "Charlotte City Club". Active in the local chapter of the Instrument Society of America, she became the first woman regional VP of ISA. Gay was well respected in the industry.
When she retired, Gay and Kent enjoyed traveling to the Southwest to pursue her hobby of collecting native american baskets. She was a devoted grandmother to her grandchild, Lauren and great-grandsons, River and Ryder Stiller.
She is survived by her daughter, Vickie Gay Randall; step-daughter, Cindy McCreery; granddaughter, Lauren Natalie (Randall) Stiller; and step-granddaughter, Eleanor Morris.
A service to celebrate Gay's life will be held Friday June 5, 2026 from 1:00 P.M.-1:30 P.M. Meet and Greet family from 1:30 P.M.-2:30 P.M. at McEwen Funeral Service-Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Road, Charlotte, NC 28210.
The family will receive friends following the service.
Private interment will be at Forest Lawn East Cemetery.
