George W. Barringer

A native of Rowan County, Mr. Barringer was born to the late Glenn Barringer and Gladys Eagle Barringer on February 22, 1931. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War, serving from 1951 to 1959. Mr. Barringer was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church and retired from American Credit/Selective Insurance after 30 years.

Mr. Barringer is survived by his wife of 57 years, Eunice S. Barringer; sons, Stephen V. Barringer and wife Erika of Stanfield, Alan L. Barringer of Onancock, VA; sister, Sylvia Faulk of Richfield; brother, Edward Barringer of Richfield; grandchildren, Megan, Adam, Rachel, Samuel and Jack.

The funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 19 at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 8947 Albemarle Rd., Charlotte with Reverend Ted Kostich officiating. Interment will follow at 1:30 p.m., on Monday in Simpson Cemetery in Albemarle. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church.
