Georgia Lingle Brooks

Georgia L. Brooks, 94, of Pineville, went to be with the Lord on December 6, 2010 while at Pineville Rehab Center. She will always be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to all that knew her.

She was born on April 26, 1916 to Lawrence and Leona Williams Lingle in Union County, NC. She was known as an avid artist and was musically talented. She loved to crochet, sew and was loved for her beautiful quilts. Georgia was always known for her loving disposition and never met a stranger.

Survivors include her 2 sons: Robert Brooks and his wife Lynda of Charlotte, NC, Pastor Don Brooks and his wife Linda also of Charlotte, NC; 6 grandchildren and 7 great grand children. Mrs. Brooks was preceded in death by her husband Wayne S. Brooks in 1967 and her son Rodney Lee Brooks in 2008.

Services will be at 12:00 Noon on Thursday, December 9, 2010 at McEwen Funeral Service Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Rd., Charlotte, NC with Pastor Don Brooks officiating. The family will receive friends at 11:00 am prior to the service. Burial will follow at Marshville City Cemetery in Marshville, NC. Condolences can be made at www.mcewenpinevillechapel.com.
