Greg was born on the 28th of September, 1964 in Monroe, North Carolina to the late Gerald D. and Iris Moser Long. Throughout his life Greg worked hard and was always looking to help anyone that was in need. He was the owner of Long’s Painting Company for the last 16 years.
He loved his animals, fishing and gardening and taking care of his home.
Greg is preceded in death by his parents: Gerald and Iris, as well as his grandparents: Titus and Ada Long and Ellis and Addie Moser.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda Long; his sister, Mignon Long. He is also survived by his nephews: Derrick Austin and wife, Emily; Ellis Austin and wife, Karri and four great nephews: Luke, Ethan, Mason and Krew Austin and one great niece, Baxley.
A Celebration of his life will be held 12 Noon on Friday, the 3rd of July, 2026 at New Kirk Baptist Church, 175 Museum Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732. The family will greet friends immediately following the service at the church. Private burial will be in Forest Lawn West Cemetery in Charlotte, NC.
