September 26, 1930 ~ November 12, 2023
Gertrude Rae Seabolt, age 93, of Charlotte, went home to be with the Lord on November 12, 2023. She passed peacefully in her sleep surrounded by loved ones, after a battle with cancer.
Born September 26, 1930, in Charlotte NC, she was the daughter of the late George Farmer and Edith Guinn Farmer. She was preceded in death by her husband F.C. Seabolt; her three sisters and her brother.
Gertrude loved her family, that is where her heart was. Her best moments were when all of her family got together sharing a meal and visiting with one another. She cared deeply for her friends and neighbors, and loved chatting with them on the front porch. She loved her fur babies (Goldie and Millie) and enjoyed watching the birds and squirrels from the back porch. She loved her soap operas and watching her favorite TV shows at night while enjoying a bowl of butter pecan ice cream. She was an expert card player and enjoyed beating her grandchildren and great grandchildren in a game of rummy. Her favorite holiday was Christmas which she spent decorating the home and baking Christmas cookies with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her family and friends will miss her more than words can express.
Loving family members include her son Steve Seabolt and her daughter Vickie Groce; granddaughter Theresa Adams, and grandson Rick Cobb (Robin); great granddaughters Jessica Godwin and Samantha Starnes (Joey) and their children Dalton, Zoe, and Landon; great granddaughter Kassie and her children Henry and Harrison; her brother-in-law Sandy Sanders and niece Donna Sanders .
