We had the pleasure of having Mr. Ballance as a dinner guest about 12 years ago and he was a joy. Lots of stories and conversation. He enjoyed hot tea and appreciated that I kept him well supplied during dinner. I loved his book and have a signed copy of Leah's Journey. I was sorry to reach the end of the book and wanted to know about what happened later to Leah. He is an inspiration to me to turn my dream of writing a book into reality. His daughter Bobbie is a dear dear friend and our hearts go out to you. It is hard losing a parent. Even harder to lose your last parent.

Please see where I lit a candle for Mr. Ballance. He was and still is my favorite teacher from Garinger, class of '79.

Mr. Ballance is still one of the Finest people I have ever been BLESSED to have had in my life. He was kind, gentle, funny, forgiving and understanding, and a Wonderful Teacher. I've heard that Teachers wish that they could have touched just one student's life, well, Mr. Ballance touched more than one, I can assure you of that. May he rest peacefully in Summerland.

I was sorry to hear about Great Uncle Gilbert. He had been a blessing especially when my mother, Ada Lee Harris passed away. I pray the Lord will give all his family peace. I wish I could have taken the trip to The Holy Land with him. He will surely be missed.

Mr Ballance was my favorite teacher when I was a student at Central High. Literature and English were not my favorite subjects, but after a year in his class, I actually developed an appreciation for the subject. That is no small feat for a teenager. He was a great teacher and human being. One thing that I will always remember about him is that I never heard him yell or raise his voice at at anyone. May he Rest in Peace.
