Gladys Simmons Britt

Gladys Simmons Britt, 89, died Friday, March 02, 2012 at Universal Healthcare in Concord. A native of Dillon County, SC, she was born on July 24, 1922 to the late Maxie Simmons and Hana Bass Simmons. Mrs. Britt was a homemaker.

A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held at 11:00AM, Monday, March 5th, in the chapel of Wilson Funeral Service with Rev. Kelly Parker officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. Serving as pallbearers will be Joe Britt, Terry Hyatt, Joseph Callahan, George Britt, Thomas Britt and Thomas McDowell. The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 4th, from 4:00PM to 6:00PM at the funeral home.

Mrs. Britt is survived by three sons, Floyd Britt and wife Doris, of Locust, Frank Britt and wife Joann, of Charlotte, Ronnie Britt and wife Rhonda, Mooresville; two daughters, Dorothy Kirkland, of Huntersville, Clara Elliott and husband John, of Gafney, SC; fourteen grandchildren and twenty seven great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Britt was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Britt; a son, Thomas Britt, Jr and a great-granddaughter, Kayci JoNa Rodriguez.
