Gladys was born in Catawba County to Harry and Minnie Shuford. She came to Charlotte in the mid 40s with her sister, Billie, and began a long career with Southern Bell. She spent many years proudly raising her sons and enjoying Grace Methodist Church and the Christian Home Class. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Gerald A. Campbell in January 2016 and her siblings, Sue Kilby, Lib Willis, Betty Sherrill, Gordon Shuford and Harry Shuford, Jr.
She is survived by husband of 61 years, Gil Campbell; son Geoff (Carmon); grandchildren, Matthew, Caroline and Joshua. She is also survived by her sister Billie S. Gribble; sister-in-law Vera J. Shuford; brother-in-law, John D. Willis and many nieces and nephews.
A private funeral will be held for Mrs. Campbell.
