She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Alan Russakov, and her beautiful granddaughter, Karrah Russakov. Gloria is lovingly remembered by her sister, Carol Apparies; her children, Mara Rosenberg, Rebecca Leavitt (Sheldon Leavitt), and Joshua Russakov; as well as her cherished grandchildren: Daniel Rosenberg (Zoë Heatwole), Isabel Leavitt, Henry Leavitt, Sophie Rosenberg-O'Rourke (Robert O'Rourke), and Miranda Leavitt.
A gifted writer and editor with a sharp and irreverent wit, Gloria made an unforgettable impact as a food critic, poet, essayist, and novelist. Her words brought insight and joy to readers over the years, leaving behind a legacy of creativity and inspiration. One of her greatest joys was locating her books in the Library of Congress.
