Gordon Price

Gordon Price, 80, of Charlotte, NC passed away on June 19, 2013 at his home, surrounded by family. Born on November 10, 1932 in Louisville, KY, he was the son of the late Zinn O’Hara Price and Geraldine Susan Violette Price. Mr. Price lived in Jacksonville, FL and Atlanta, GA, and then became a long-time resident of Connecticut before moving to Charlotte in 2011. For most of his career, he held sales and management positions with Chevron. He was a passionate gardener and loved to travel, but most of all he loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed a lifelong interest in meteorology, botany, astronomy, geology and music, especially traditional jazz.

He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Glass, of Charlotte, NC, with whom he shared a long relationship of 33 years; by his children, Stephen O’Hara Price, of Charlotte, NC; David Gordon Price, of Newton, MA; and Susan Elizabeth Price, of Woodstock, GA, sons and daughter of Betsy Barham; by his grandchildren, Laura Hickman, Amanda (Kirk) Castle, Courtney Price, Joshua Price, Hannah Price; by his great-grandson, Carter Hickman; by his brother, Willis (Gloria) Price, of San Mateo, CA; by his step-daughter, Deborah (Stephen Downie) Katz-Downie, and their children Alana, Daniel, and Saul Downie, of Urbana, IL; by his brother-in-law Herman (Kirsten) Glass, of Vienna, Austria; by his brother-in-law Raymond (Tana) Glass, of Farmington, ME; along with nieces and nephews.

The funeral will take place on Sunday, June 23, 2013 at 11:00 am in the Leslie & Kevin Archer Chapel of Temple Beth El, 5101 Providence Road, Charlotte. A meal of consolation will be served at Temple following the service. There will be a private interment on Sunday afternoon.
