Leona “Grace” Wallace, 93, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2026. She was born on June 20, 1933, in Hutchinson, Kansas, to Abram and Helena Unruh. She was the youngest of six children and was raised in a deeply Godly home, where faith in the Lord was woven into the fabric of daily life.
In 1955, Grace met her husband, Levoy, through mutual friends. Their courtship was brief but certain—they were married just 4 months later. Together, Grace and Levoy shared nearly 64 years of marriage, building a life centered on faith, family, and service to the Lord.
Grace spent much of her life singing. For many years, she sang in trios and choirs, using her beautiful voice to praise God. Even in her later years, she continued singing beloved gospel hymns with her caretakers and friends. Her love of music and worship remained with her throughout her life, until our Lord and Savior called her home.
Grace devoted her life to witnessing for the Lord alongside Levoy. She faithfully supported the Bible studies he led and welcomed countless missionaries, friends, and others into their home. She was the ultimate hostess, always ready with a warm smile, an open door, and a place at their table.
A devoted full-time homemaker, Grace passionately loved her family, who were her greatest joy. She and Levoy were intentional about raising their children in a Godly home, teaching them by both word and example to love and serve the Lord. The faith they lived out together became a lasting legacy for their children, grandchildren, and generations to come.
Grace will be remembered for her gentle spirit, steadfast faith, love of Scripture, gracious hospitality, and unwavering devotion to her family. She leaves behind a legacy of faithful love, quiet service, and a life wholly devoted to her Lord.
Grace was preceded in death by her parents, Abram and Helena Unruh; her beloved husband of nearly 64 years, Levoy Wallace; her grandson, Blake Bowell; and her siblings, Veola Unruh Owens (Robert), Ramon Unruh (Arlene), Luella Unruh Acheson (Margo), Melvin Unruh (Anna Lee), and Winifred Unruh George (Wilburn O’Dell).
She is survived by her daughter, LeDania Wallace Carmichael (husband Dan); her son, Devin Wallace (wife Colleen); her grandchildren and spouses: Lakin, Billy, Taylor, Matt, Samuel, Brianna, Benjamin, Tim, Shauni, Christian, Jahlisha, Amy, Kevin, Dan, Kaley, Ben; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Though Grace’s passing leaves a deep void in the hearts of those who loved her, her family rejoices in the assurance that she has finished her earthly journey and is now in the presence of the Savior she loved and served so faithfully.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.” — Matthew 25:23
