

Grady Alexander was born on October 1, 1934 in Mooresville, NC and passed away on January 6, 2018, peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family and friends. Grady is the son of the late Erwin and Nena Kistler Alexander. He was a graduate of Mooresville High School and a US Army veteran serving in the Central Intelligence Corps (CIC). Grady retired from Moore Electric Supply. He was a long-time member of Paw Creek Presbyterian Church where he served as a Deacon, Treasurer, Church School Officer, and member of the Men’s Bible Class.
In addition to his parents, Grady was preceded in death by three brothers Frank, Gene and Robert Alexander and two sisters Mary Crouch and Virginia Hedrick. Grady is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Shelby Overcash Alexander; devoted daughter Stephanie Alexander; and granddog Emmy. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Betty Alexander, many nieces, nephews and special friend, Natalie Rapp.
On January 13, 2018, a graveside service will be held at Forest Lawn West Cemetery, 4601 Freedom Drive, Charlotte, NC, at 11:00am. Later that day at 1:00pm, a memorial service and celebration of Grady’s life, will be held at Paw Creek Presbyterian Church, 7400 Mount Holly Road, Charlotte, NC, officiated by Reverend Elliott Hipp. A reception and receiving of friends will follow in the Church’s Christian Fellowship Center.
