Gwendolyn T. McAllister, 70, died Sunday, December 31, 2017 at Carolinas Medical Center after a short illness. She is now free of the chronic pain she had endured for years. She lived a full and active life and was loved by many (human, K-9, and feline).
Gwen was born in Sanford, NC, went to Watts Nursing School, and became a certified registered nurse anesthetist at North Carolina Baptist Hospital.
She is survived by David, her husband of 41 years; stepsons, Chip and Steve McAllister; and step-grandsons, Nicholas and Andrew McAllister, who were loved by her as if they were her own. She is also survived by her brothers, BR Turner and Randy Turner (Barbara).
Burial will be private. Memorials should be sent to your local Humane Society.
