He is survived by two daughters: Trudy K. Bales (Dick) and Patty K. Sebastian as well as 4 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents Red was preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years Evelyn Horton Kimmons, a grandson Scott Todd, a great grandchild Madison Keaton and two brothers Clyde Kimmons Jr and Hubert Kimmons.
The family will receive friends from 1:00pm to 2:00pm Sunday, February 2, 2014 in the state room at McEwen Funeral Service – Charlotte Chapel, 5716 Monroe Road, Charlotte, NC 28212. A funeral service will be held immediately following the visitation at 2:00pm in the chapel at McEwen. Interment will follow in Sharon Memorial Park.
