Harold Franklin Owen Jr. passed away at home on Wednesday April 6, 2016. He was born in Atlanta, GA on August 13, 1946 to the late Harold Franklin Owen Sr. and the late Sarah Upton Owen. He is survived by his wife of 44 years Martha Jenkins Owen; his daughter Jennie Livingstone and her husband Alex of Chapel Hill; sister Harriett DeRosier and her husband Dave of Covington, GA; and sister-in-law Nancy Jenkins of Greensboro. Frank graduated from Avondale Estates High School and Georgia State University where he was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity.
Frank was an avid sports fan and could often be found cheering on the Carolina Panthers and the Charlotte Hornets. He was known for his storytelling and gregarious nature. Frank retired from a career in sales covering NC, SC and VA.
A memorial service will be held at 2:30pm Saturday April 16, 2016 at McEwen Pineville Chapel 10500 Park Rd. Charlotte, NC 28210. The family will receive friends following the service. Online condolences may be offered at www.mcewenpinevillechapel.com.
