Hattie was a great neighbor at Fair Market Plaza.  We spent alot of time talking and visiting with each other. I am happy for the chance to get to know her.  I will miss her dearly.

I remember Mrs Vines well and spent lots of time at her residence with my great friend Ned.  So sorry for your loss.

Just wanted  the family to know what a special person Ms Vines was, growing up in a trailer park in Boone she was one of my favorite neighbors. She always showed me and my sister (Phyllis), my brother (Tim) and my parents (JB & Judy) so much kindness! My sister and I spent the night with her when my brother was born. Also she bought my sister and I our first watches (Mickey Mouse face watches. My Mom's favorite story is me telling her I wanted a carton of Mountain Dew for my birthday and thats what I got. My condolences are with the family, I know she will be truly missed!

My condolences to the family for their loss.  Hattie Mae Vines will be remembered as a happy, strong, independent woman, and her spirit will live on and be celebrated through her children and grandchildren.

What a glorious 99 years.  I have heard many great stories about you from Angela and I know she thought the world of you and always spoke highly of your strong will and sassy ways.  You will be missed.

You were a wonderful grandmother and I am glad to have precious memories with you.

An avid vegetable gardener and believer of the farmers almanac, she could tell you all about the seasons and  seasons of change. She even predicted my son's birth by the moon phase. She loved nature and knew the important things in life: God, Family, gardening, VW Beetles, Zest, White Shoulders Powder, making a good meal, canning, crocheting, jimmy carter, defrosting her car windows with hot water in the winter and the 'Granny Hugs'. 

Granny was a strong and proud woman. I believe the strongest woman I have ever known. She made you want to set higher expectations because of the example of life she set. She would tell you many stories if you would listen and if you didn't want truth or directness, you most likely didn't want to take it to the table with Granny. 

She said to me once, ‘listen child one things for sure, people make time for what's important to them.” Granny always made time.  I believe if you really knew her, you know what was important to the woman we all call Granny.
