Helen Heather Martin

Ms. Martin received a B.A. from Connecticut College and a BLS from Columbia University in New York. She came to Charlotte in 1954 from New York, and worked one year with Charlotte College. Helen then worked with the Public Library of Charlotte and Mecklenburg County from 1955-1976. She was branch librarian at East Branch in the Plaza, and then at the Sharon Branch in the Sharon Shopping Center. Helen did branch collection development work at the Main Library for three years. Ms. Martin was a member of Myers Park Presbyterian Church, and volunteered at Presbyterian Hospital for 14 years.

A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 in the Chapel of Harry & Bryant, 500 Providence Rd., Charlotte. Interment at Sharon Memorial Park will be private.
